More About The Campaign
At a time when many people feel powerless or disconnected, Democracy Vermont offers a way to fight back. This isn’t about left or right, it’s about right or wrong.
We spent the summer identifying folks eager to do more to respond to federal overreach and protect their Vermont communities from harm. Now we'll equip them with the necessary tools and training to ensure they can make real, positive change within their communities and beyond. How? By developing 17 local volunteer groups (hives) across the state.
VPIRG will host regularly facilitated group meetings, organizer and advocate trainings, in person and virtual events, and actions for the short and long term. Our democracy team will be available to answer questions and provide support in whatever way an individual hive finds necessary.
This campaign is about rekindling People Power and building a movement of the people, by the people, and for the people. Interested? Get in touch!
What is a Democracy Vermont Hive?
A Democracy Vermont Hive is a group of local Vermont activists eager to take action for democracy with support from the VPIRG democracy team (you won't have to go it alone and you don't need to be an organizing expert to get involved!). The goal is to build more resilient communities and leaders who are not afraid to stand strong in the face of federal overreach.
